Just a few questions about two door toledos:-
How many were made.
When was the 1st one registered.
When was the last one registered.
How many are known by the club to survive.
Other than the short/full bumpers what other difference's was there through the production life.

Re: Two door toledo questions ?
Rob Marshall, the Toledo register secretary is probably the man with all the answers, but, until he turns up, here's what I reckon:-
Total production, no idea!
The first cars were rolled out somewhere in mid 1970 with the earliest few registered on an "H" plate. Production of 2 Door cars (but not 4 doors) ended in mid 1975 and you do see the odd one on a "P"
Club known survivors, I couldn't say, "Howmanyleft.com" has total Toledo survivors, 2 and 4 door, taxed and sorned, at 129 cars last time I looked but as usual, don't take that as gospel. If I had to guess, I would put the figure of suviving 2 door cars in the 70-80 range - which is why Rob grouses about all the 2 doors getting uprated or different powerplants! (including mine of course)
Production differences, early cars came with short bumpers, drum front brakes, aluminium grilles and without hazard warning lights, heated rear window or brake servo. From about 72 onward, radial tyres were a cost option.
The first change was probably the grille, swapped for a plastic one, then the short bumpers, fitting of hazards, change to servo'd disc brakes and finally the HRW was standardised. All this had happened by the time my 2 door (ADH 9063DL) was built in December 73. Incidentally early cars carried (IIRC) an ADF commission prefix and later cars like mine, the ADH prefix. I thinkthe change coincided with the brake upgrade but i'm not certain. Similarly the 4 doors were prefixed ADG or ADJ.

Re: Two door toledo questions ?
Being the founder of the Toledo Register I looked into the numbers of 2/4 door cars produced pretty early on in the Register's history.
Unless since records have changed I can tell you that the factory didn't keep records of the two models, they only kept a rolling record of total cars produced which (from memory) I think was around 113,000.

Re: Two door toledo questions ?
Popped by, during a lunch break. Here are the basic answers but I don't really have the time to elaborate now. Maybe this is something I could do for the Toledo 2-4 section of the magazine:
How many were made. - 118,000 ish, including 1500cc export cars.
When was the 1st one registered. - Approx March 1970, for a batch of prototypes, used later as press cars for the launch. Most of those were registered RVC ***H. As the launch was held in August 1970, cars supplied to the public tended to be on J plates.
When was the last one registered. Production ceased in March 1975, around the same time as the Speke factory shut and full production transferred to Coventry.
How many are known by the club to survive. See Carledo's post. I worked out that, averaged out throughout production, approximately one 2-door car was made for every four 4-doors. However, I think that 2-door survival rates are likely to be between 20-50 cars. See the Toledo Facebook page, where a count is being held.
Other than the short/full bumpers what other difference's was there through the production life. - Quite a few, which changed yearly. Not as many changes as the 4-doors. If you compare an early 2-door with a late 4-door, almost nothing is the same. The nosecone (lower and inner panels are different), bonnet, boot, windscreen, rear panels, floor, some carpet sections, a few bits of interior trim are the same. Even the wiper motor was altered!
Early drum brakes cars were ADG chassis numbers, changed to ADH from October 1972. I have the final 2-door chassis number somewhere in the archives. ADFs were Speke-built 4-doors. DF chassis numbers were Coventry-built 4-doors, the majority of which were facelifted, with hazards etc.
