Over the Christmas period I have been busy rebuilding my dash.

Some months ago I had my spare dash and door capping's re-veneered.
From this:




These are the veneer sheets I purchased.


To this:


All the gauge casing's were send away for re-plating and the gauge interior's were powder coated in white rather than sprayed with white paint.
The gauges black dials were cleaned with pledge, the glass / perspex fascia cleaned with glass cleaner and the off white needles painted white. New seals fitted between the bezel's and the glass / perspex fascia.

I have removed the volt gauge, fitted the fuel gauge in its place and added a oil pressure gauge where the fuel gauge was. The wiring loom has additional wires added to allow for the change and re- taped using looming tape for protection - if required the dash layout can be reverted back to how it left the factory as the wires are there.

Your thoughts please - I have contact details of the person who refurbished my dash + capping's if required.

Looks great. I found doing mine very satisfying but did get a bit anal about re-plating all the dial holders even though you don't see them!

Many thanks for all your comments - I'm very please how the dash looks.

I've had the door capping's altered - there are or were three flat surfaces on the capping, I asked for the capping's to be radius-ed making them more like the leading edge of a kitchen work surface.

Capillary type gauge jonners - I need to route the pipe through the bulkhead.

That looks excellent...so much better in Burr walnut as opposed to the cheapy cut Dolly's usually get (except the SE of course).

I'll give you free board while you do the same to my Sprint.
Its just leading into summer here, and I live right on the coast, with miles of empty sandy beaches. I'm sure you'd enjoy the stay. LOL
