The Sprint dizzy is indeed the Lucas 44D4 and is compatible with the 45D4 (in terms of the points and condenser). I run a 44D4 on my 1850 with the Britpart kit which is a direct replacement for the points and condenser. I use this in conjunction with a 45D5 rotor arm and dizzy cap. This is not really possible on the Sprint unless you can make your own HT leads to fit the 45D4 cap. There are several electronic ignition kits available for the Sprint. I'm sure the Sprint owners will come forward with their recomendations in due course.

Former stable of SAY 414M (1974 Toledo), GRH 244D (1966 1300fwd), CDB 324L (1973 1500fwd), GGN 573J (1971 1500fwd), DCP 625S (1977 Dolomite 1300) & LCG 367N (1975 Dolomite Sprint), NYE 751L (1972 Dolomite 1850 auto) plus 5 Acclaims and that's just the Triumphs!
I'll take a look at those then,as the power spark include a new side entry cap and leads which I dont need as both of mine are new so presumably i just need the internal parts if they sell them or if the britpart company do.
If not I'll have spare parts.
Powerspark don't mention a new coil is needed which is a bonus
I'm not sure if the Britpart kit will fit under the Sprint rotor arm. Weigh up your options before you spend any money. A secondhand kit isn't worth it. I bought a secondhand Newtronic electronic ignition (it came with a dizzy) and it died on me in a relatively short space of time.

Having now spoken to a chap at powerspark they list a new slightly different cap as the rotor arm is bigger and hence you need new leads for the cap. It all works with a standard coil.
I've bought an electric fuel pump 'fuel flow' imported by 'powerspark'which I can recommend it works well with carbs it's never over fuelled the float bowls. As the ignition parts are developed by them in house gives me positive vibes about their products.
If I remember correctly, Powerspark sell the decent quality products. It is always worth paying that bit more for decent quality.

I put in my Sprint dizzy a Pertronix Ignitor I (Part. nr LU-244) one year ago along with 3.0 Ohm Flame Thrower Coil and magnecor plug lead set, still work great!
This kit is from simonbbc who i get all my kits from. A very knowledgeable guy who seems to do a lot of development rather than just bashing out kits of other peoples stuff for more money. Very helpful and friendly on the phone too.

The good thing about that kit is that it comes with good fitting leads with the correct tubes.
The caps are from an Austin Ambassador. Loads on eBay separately if required.
It's a bit more faffing about, due to the need to fit a timing wheel to the crank pulley, it's undoubtedly more expensive than a simple electronic conversion, and would be a lot more obvious to somebody looking for originality.
But it means you end up totally distributorless, no need to worry about caps, rotor arms, or other bits ever again!
