If you need a new one of these due to corrosion of the steel retaining bar, I can recommend the Halfords one as a replacement. P/No 165407 at £4:50. It needs cutting down to use just the two inner mounting holes. The threaded rods are a bit on the long side and will need cutting down ( to clear the air filter on the 1850) and the threads would need to be extended with a die nut.
The thread is M6.
Edit : 5/2/15. You can't extend the M6 threads downwards as the diameter of the original unthreaded section is actually smaller than the threaded section. So how has this been made originally ? 2 different diameters of steel ?. Back to my original threaded rods I'm afraid.

Surely you just cut the rods down to the required length +1"ish (cutting the non-threaded end, obviously), put the rod in the vice and bend a new hook end on it at the required distance?

Ah ! Rolled threads ! Now that was something that wasn't covered in my lectures all those years ago ! I looked the subject up on Wikipadia and all is clear. This forum is educational if nothing else. Thank you.
