vinyl roof and c pillars

#1 Post by Leyland Lawrence »

Hi

Could anyone tell me if they know someone in the south west.reliably able to fit a vinyl roof and whether they've had any success using vinyl for the c pillars? I'm loathed to damage mine removing them for the bodywork without being sure there's someone out there who can do the roof and fit th c pillar trims another same time

Also, is it essential that the gutter trims are removed for the vinyl roof?

yup, the gutter trims need to be removed, but they are easy with an old fashioned can opener that fits neatly under the trim and simply pops it off. I was nervous about this myself, but it was a painless exercise. You don't need to pop the gutter chrome for the C pillars though. Bigger job is removing the windscreen if you are doing the whole roof..

martrim do the C pillar vinyl, if you do a search on the forums under "Martim" lots of helpful advice will come up. Fitting the C pillar vinyl is relatively straightforward, contact adhesive and clothes pegs for the win. Mad Mart had an excellent guide on how to fit a new vinyly roof, again a search will get you there. Quite impressive to see the vinyl being stuck down. Seams or no seams ?

Good luck
