Hi all.I want to test the engine of 1500dolly. before
I install it.how do I get around the coil aspect.thanks. Myles.

The engine needs proper support at the sides and the back.
You just need a common earth point and a battery and fuel
supply and a wired up ignition circuit and starter switch....
All this is quite conveniently on hand if you put it in a car...

Best thing to do is give it a good inspection with the head off and sump off. If everything is OK here then it should run fine. The idea of bolting it to a workmate and getting it going whilst amusing would be rather unwise and unsafe. Unless you have a dyno I'd leave it to the pros.

I made this when I used to do Triumph engines a lot. It also doubled as a transport cradle and left me when I did my final Triumph engine a few years ago. It worked well, though the electrics were a bit rough and ready

That looks really a handy piece of kit Jod.I've just bolted the unit in today.now to fit gear box mount.
driveshaft etc.etc.Myles.

I'm assuming just leaving it mounted in a subframe would be ok?.. Can't imagine it going far.
