Hello

#1 Post by mantney »

Hello, I have an Austin A35 which I am 'restoring' and it's taking a bit longer than I hoped. I bought it last year after selling my A series Opel Manta Which, itself, was off the road for 2 years. I didn't want to spend another summer without a working classic so I bought this -

2 A series. Lime green gte colours drag car project (long way to go) and a red rallye auto needs resto (bought from manta again ages ago) I bought a sprint last year as a runner with mot etc and 3 days later had the engine out lol. Undergoing final stages of refurb in the engine bay and mods to make it a bit more user friendly :)

Got any more pics of your dolly? is it all on the road and being used now?

It's Mot'd and will run on a bump but it the started isn't working so I had that off today and its down at a local auto electrics. Will know more when I can start it properly. No more pics yet (only arrived yesterday). No mods planned. I'm saving that for the A35

Had the starter back yesterday afternoon, it's been serviced and had the solenoid replaced. But as I had my 1yo daughter i couldn't do much about it. Then I had to make dinner when the mrs came home from work with my son in tow, then it got dark.
A modern mans work is never done.
Was hoping to crack on this morning but its pi55ing down.

Starters on, working well. Was running terrible once to warmed up. New condenser seems to have solved it.

Thanks, I did about 25 mile almost trouble free (doesn't sound a lot but the car is a bit of an unknown quantity) except for some squeaking from the brakes. I didn't think after taking delivery on Monday I'd be using it within a week.
