Bonnet Will Not Stay Shut

#1 Post by Ictoan »

Hi,

Run into a bit of a problem with the bonnet, in so much as it keeps 'popping' up when driving. The catch appears to close the hole where the pin drops unto the catch, as far as it can before hitting the stop where the cable attaches, so I don't think the cable is holding the catch open a bit.

The bonnet has always been a bit of a nuisance and requires being dropped from a bit of a height to make sure it closes, but now it keeps popping up when driving.

Any suggestions?

Try loosening the catch on the bulkhead and raising it a tad.

You know when you look at something and think to your self 'That should adjust but I can't see how it can.'

Feeling a mixture of 'pleased it appears to be sorted' :D and 'feeling a bit silly for not working it out myself'

Thanks Mart, slightly confused by the lay out with two bolts and a nut. Bonnet now sitting just a tad proud of the panel in front of the screen but now it will close with just a firm shove, for the first time. Will test it out on the road tomorrow.

Cheers,
Tim
