Recovery: the small print!

#1 Post by xvivalve »

Found out the hard way yesterday that 'recovery' will cover you, your car and a trailer, but if the contents of the trailer is another car, that car other car isn't covered! Fortunately a Mate with a towbar was close to hand and able to help, else an untaxed car on a trailer would still be 'parked' in a red zone on Birmingham's ring road!!

All the local recovery truck drivers do know me by name.

Last year when a propshaft bearing from the volvo fell to pieces the recovery person did ask if i was still in the scrap iron bussines. He drove me home probably before.

Britannia Rescue brought my Jeep, trailer and the Herald Estate on the trailer home for me a couple of years ago, no questions asked. Maybe time to review which company you are with!

This is what happens when you get your gas from the milkman or electricity from Tesco. I'll be surprised if GF on a direct policy do this. Others quoted above don't, those in yellow have recovered self + loaded trailer. GF have to compete.
