Me and Rich are now getting another lock up purely for Dolly spares! Which got me thinking, what kind of spares do you have.

I have....

1500 engine Knocking
1850 engine Knocking, water pump seeping
tr7 engine in pieces
tr7 engine Number 1 and Number 4 spark plug threads ripped out!
tr7 engine A runner but a bit noisey
sprint engine Good runner
sprint engine Good runner
Rover V8 (George we need to talk!) In bits, going to be rebuilt

1500 gear box Fine
1850 gear box second gear synchro is a bit low but a good box
Sprint gear box Yet to have driven on it
LT77 gear box (George we still need to talk!) Same as above

1300 subframe Very rusty
1500 subframe Bent
1850 subframe Fine
sprint subframe Fine
sprint subframe Fine
Modified 1850 subframe to take Rover V8 (George?) Fine

1300 back axle, dead
1850 back axle, dead
1850 back axle, alive!
Sprint back axle Fine
Sprint back axle Fine

The engines, subframes, gear boxxes and axles are a mix of whats on a car and whats off. As there all in the middle of being swapped!

3 bonnets, 1 red, 1 green one blue and very dented

2 bits of front panel,

1 crap drivers front wing

2 sets of glass, one tinted one not

And I've now forgotten what else I have, cool huh 8)

Your turn

Edit - I've added next to the parts, why they are indeed spares

So I can come along with a big van and take everything you have forgotten

Seems that my spares are tiny compared to yours. Most of my stuff is for Spitfire and TR anyway and no big pieces like engines, gearboxes or subframes are left anymore after the last clean up and selling action.

Sounds to me you have a lot of scrap there Adam; I'd weigh a load in before paying extra to store it...else you'll end up like me.

My advice; be ruthless. My rule now is if I wouldn't use it on/in a car why is anyone else likely to?

Yep get rid of the scrap bits that you will never need
When i get a spare week to drive around southampton i will list the spares i have. i cleared out a whole garage a few months ago and most of it was binned.
Im now down to 1 single lockup , a double garage (shared) ,a triple garage (shared and going to have a car put into it soon) , a loft full and , a garden which resembles a breakers yard , a large shed soon to be ordered.oh and 1 car and 1 motorbike with some parts stored at work.
I also use on of the fwd's as a storage shed

Weigh in...

The 2 low order sub frames, the 1300 axle and the knocking 1500, less head, which will sell to a spit jock...

The 1300 half shafts...hmmm maybe keep em, but I'd bin them too.

NEVER throw half-shafts away. My stock is depleting fast, due to hubs that will not come off. My next pair are going to have 60 tonnes on them on Monday and if that doesn't shift the hubs I'm screwed. Soon all scrap bins outside engineering shops in Warwickshire will have at least one of my knackered half-shafts in.
