Tracing a leak

Afternoon :D

I'm becoming mildly frustrated by the puddle of water that keeps appearing in my 1300's passenger footwell. I thought I'd solved the problem when I found a small hole in the scuttle, just behind the bulkhead, but having taken care of it the water is still getting in.
The windscreen rubber seems fine, and I can't see any other ingress points in the bulkhead. There seems to be a slight trace of moisture coming down the inside of the bulkhead, but I can't see the source (not without ripping out the dash, anyway).
Are there any other obvious areas I should be checking before I just drill a drain-hole in the floor? :wink:

Rubber grommet on the passenger side - the blower motor cable / windscreen washer bottle cables pass through this grommet, you can see this by the side of the passenger inner side wheel arch. I will try and find you a picture.

Sixth picture down in Mark thread - as above for position and just next to a green cable looming clip.

Welcome to the forum.

Have you checked the bulkhead drain holes? If any of them are blocked the water will build up and overflow into the interior of the car.

What I would do is pour some water into the scuttle and see where it enters inside. You may have to remove the parcel shelf and sound deadening to gain access.

I have found it can track down the cable and through the seal, so it could be simple like that. If you're unlucky you might find that the bulkhead paint is hiding some rot letting the water enter.

Thanks for the responses :)

Finally managed to dodge the rain & gales yesterday long enough to have a look... the drain holes don't appear to be blocked, so I'm guessing it must be a leaking rubber grommet as suggested. The dash was due for replacement anyway, so I'll just have to bump it up the list of jobs, then I can waterproof the bulkhead properly.
