DIY Coilovers.

#1 Post by eightiesflamer »

Was surfing the tinterweb last night for some new coilovers for the sprint and found £500 seems to be the average price for a full set. Clicked onto rally design's web site to find they do a diy threaded tube, adjuster ring, lock ring and top mount diy coilover kit for £20 a corner, all that is required is a shock absorber body with a 2 inch ID body, then you weld the threaded tube to the body, buy yourself some 2 1/4 inch springs, bosh em on and off you go.
Anyone tried this, just figured that with a motor factors £17 shock absorber and the diy kit you could have yourself a budget coilover kit.

Any thoughts.

You will still have non adjustable soft shocks. A waist of time and money if you ask me.
