Help needed what is my dolly worth?
Help needed what is my dolly worth?
I need some assistance from fellow dolomite owning club members if you could please I have a dolly sprint auto I bought some 3-4 years ago. It was a project when I bought it but was supposed to be all but ready for the road with a couple of mornings work left. I am still working on it, that’s what comes of buying without going to see….
Besides the point, my dilemma is I have arthritis of the spine which has progressed quickly recently and with the recent diagnosis of another medical complication as well I have come to the conclusion that physically/medically I am now unable to complete the car.
What I need help with is I have decided to sell the Dolomite but have absolutely no idea how much it is worth or to ask for it. I could do with some opinions please.
I have done a stack of work on it briefly:-
Resprayed (done before I owned it)
Full stainless exhaust system
New tyres
Suspension adjustable GAZ shocks all round, all front ball joints replaced steering rack gaiters and track rod ends replaced.
Brake pipes replaced with stainless flexibles tracker jack conversion with new disks and re con callipers, green stuff pads
Davies Craig electric water pump and kenlow fan
Carbs professionally re conditioned by S.U. specialists, all new ignition parts, spark plug tubes and alloy carb mounts, spin on oil filter kit, electronic ignition kit (not fitted), new high torque starter, electric fuel pump, new battery just fitted.
Tracker fitted
Electric Remote boot opener
New carpets, seat belts, battery relocated to boot, headlamp washer system. 12 fuse fusebox
Halogen headlamps, digital flashers, all bulbs now LED and loads more. Underneath is as clean as the top of the car.
There is still work to be done I replaced the drivers door skin as it had an obvious repair in the middle, the door is back on the car but the gubbins inside need to be refitted, there is a slight delamination on windscreen but I was going to replace (have item,) wiring needs finishing headlamps (inner) not wired and there is a fault on the headlamp flasher which cost me a new indicator switch.(short somewhere)
I just need opinions please as to how much I should ask for it. There are a load of photos on photobucket, there are about nine pages of them and are in no particular order. the link is :-

I know this is not the correct place to advertise a car for sale that will be done once I can sort out a price to list it at.

Re: Help needed what is my dolly worth?
Have you thought of getting one of us in the club to finish it for you at mates rates so you can then get
full asking on the finished job?
I'd say you have about 2-3 man days work there. When I was doing that sort of thing even at 200 quid a day you'd be looking at 600 quid to get to the finish line.
Then you are looking at a 7.5k starter with the blue seats maybe and sorted with a ticket?
Where are you? Steve or Mart may be interested.

As above, it will fetch a lot more if running with MoT. The difference will be a lot more than what it will cost to complete.

Thank you for the suggestions that is an option i had not considered and would be up for. I am in the Stourbridge area, Wordsley actually, the car would need trailering away i am happy to pay for a club member to take away for me and complete the work need a firm quote on what it is to cost as obviously not working funds are not limitless but happy with a realistic price for the job.

I would have thought from your location that Alun Nicholas would be the man to suggest somebody for you.
