Hi all, ref the attached photo, I have .... once again .... broken the small insert pipe (at the thermostat cover) for the overflow connection
anybody know what the part number is or where I can get a replacement?
thanks in advance, Doug.

A common failing.
The standard fix is to drill out the old pipe and fit a new one.
You can get this done at your local engineering shop.
You wont find a new one for sensible money and a 2nd hand one will probably do the same to you soon...

Re: help! .... not again
When it happened to mine i picked up an outlet from a motorfactors (jayars) for a vauxhall corsa. Tapped a thread into the housing to match the threaded corsa outlet. Then used that putty metal stuff that sets hard can be drilled etc and covered /shaped it over the joint. Looks fine and works a treat.
Re: help! .... not again
I repaired one recently with a similar idea. I got an 1/8 bsp thread with hose tail. Tapping for 1/8 takes out the metal just nicely then ptfe tape on the thread and that's it.

Re: help! .... not again
It is not just Triumphs that suffer this problem. My wife Diane's MX5 has a take off pipe like the one shown and I repaired it by drilling and tapping a thread and screwing in a hose tail connector, it also saved me a major strip down as the MX would have needed a complete cambelt front engine removal to replace the unit whole.
track action maniac.

Yeah, I had exactly the same issue on my MX5 mk1.trackerjack wrote:It is not just Triumphs that suffer this problem.
