Retro rides Shelsley Walsh

#1 Post by 80Sprint »

Anyone going ?

If you want 3 runs up the hill you need to book in advance this year and spaces going fast. Nearly caught me out as you used to do it on the day.

I'm going for sure, but probably not running the hill this year.

3x 40 second runs for £30 in the pouring rain last year put me off a bit - and I can do burnouts almost anywhere for free! For £20 I can get any number of runs up the strip at Marston on a run-what-ya-brung day! High entry fees to track time ratio and the high cost of race suits and MSA approved helmets are what has kept me out of the TR registers sprint and hillclimb championship, I just don't think it represents good value for money!
Thats why I love the April trackday at Coombe!

I have a bigger issue with a trailer for the championship Steve, not sure I fancy chancing a round trip every time. The Combe is a great day and I may just stick to the odd event.

I'm there and running up the hill (camping both nights as well). Last couple of years i've been for the day and it's easily been my favourite shoe of the year, despite last years downpours!

Am very interested in having a chat with you about your Sprint Mike, after seeing the power output listed on the RR forum entry list!

Good to hear another will be there. I am sure we will catch up at some point in the day.
Let's hope it's a dry one. I have a PM slot.

Weather looks ok-ish at the moment, fingers crossed. I've got a PM slot too, so will see you on the hill :D
