300 miles in torrential rain and she didn't miss a beat :)
A big thank you to Alun for posting a heads-up on this forum.

:D Excellent news.
I think you have secured an excellent buy there.

When I read Alun's post I was concerned that the asking price would attract individuals looking to make a quick profit by using
this car for a Sprint reshell, so I am delighted you, a TDC member, have become the new owner.

^ Echo the above.

I have to say had it been an HL, no one else would have had a look in and I'd have a new daily driver (well, on good days anyway!)

Ian.
I suppose at the back of my mind was a desire to preserve this now-rare car and prevent that from happening.
It's a really solid and honest car with a massive history file going right back to day one. Wings, sills and 3 out of four doors are rock solid and original, it pulls like a train, the overdrive works superbly and it also only has 23000 miles on the clock. Of course it has a few issues to attend to, but they are minor cosmetics rather than anything more serious. Engine and gearbox mountings need replacing and I'm on the lookout for a base-spec chestnut interior.
I'm sure it will attend a few shows next year :)
