I might be opening up a can of worms hear but I'm hoping for a can of beans with all your good wealth of knowledge. Where is the best place to get a fuel pump for an 1850, best make?
Also is it worth ditching the mechanical fuel pump for an electrical one, of so what one?
Cheers
Steve

I replaced my Sprint mechanical pump recently from Robsport, can't fault it, but would advise to get the gasket they do separately, that is if your going for mechanical again.

The next things to be listed on Ted's Stuff will include a couple of s/h manual fuel pumps...

You're probably aware that there are 2 types of mechanical fuel pump on the 1850 / Sprint. Early fit straight onto the block with a gasket. Late type have a plastic spacer between the pump and block. If you can't get the later type, you can discard the plastic spacer block and fit the early type.
Tony.
Edit : Drawing of the fuel pump levers for the 2 types encl] About 1/2 way down.

I went for the no spacer block option, one less seam for a leak

MANUAL fuel pumps? That's going to get tiring after a few miles

(Sorry Alun, couldn't resist!)

Ditch the mechanical one and get a leccy one, more reliable

Im running a facet red top which was originally used for webers, when i ditched the webers i fitted a filter king regulator to bring down the pressure to 1.5, both fitted to the offside suspension turret

, the link i provided should have a suitable pump. ( maybe 40104 for a standard 1850 ? ).
