Colortune for sprint

#1 Post by AlanH »

Is there a version of the colortune that will fit a sprint?

I have seen the motorcycle version which has a 10mm fitting which looks like it may do the job.

Just went and checked, I'm using the Gunson G4074 - 14mm. I know that for a fact as the box is all tatty from plenty of use whilst my motorbikes 12mm one is pristine still!

As I recall I had to use the long centre electrode extender to screw it in slightly before getting a plug socket on it, and that the head tube is that long the supplied plastic mirror didn't work as intended so had to improvise.
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)

Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

There are 2 versions of Colourtune around.
The large original one was supplied until about 1990 when the smaller version appeared and was advertised as being " Now suitable for the Dolomite Sprint and Vauxhall Firenza " I think it was.
I imagine Alan has the larger one.
Tony.
