Please Identify These 1850 Gaskets !

#1 Post by Bumpa »

I bought a NOS head gasket set from a TDC member recently. It is marked Tecaseal TCK 270. Some of the gaskets are obvious, but some are not to me, a Dolomite novice. Can someone help please.

G are the two different types for the rear transfer housing.
H are the exhaust manifold gaskets.

But what are the others? Gaskets A are made of a thickish rubbery stuff.

Thanks.

Oops, just noticed that D and F are three gaskets all the same!

A - For Strombergs, goes between the carb and head
B - SU Carb gaskets between carb, rubber mounting and head
C - SU Air box to carb gasket
D - Stromberg Air box to carb gasket
E - Thermostat housing
F - As D
G - plate on the rear of the head, one for early plates and one for late
H - Inlet Manifold to head gasket. You need to check the thickness of these, some of the newer gasket sets have them too thick and the O ring in the inlet manifold doesn't seal properly.

Did I pass? :D

Brilliant  Your degree certificate is in the post. The rubbery ones at A had me puzzled, but that's because my car has SU carbs. So now I know. Thanks.
