Project KDF

#1 Post by Mad Mart »

Oh dear, I went to see Mimosuckle the barn Sprint today at my Mum's & it looks like it's a goer. :D

The bonnet is badly dented so I shall be needing a replacement for that, the boot lid has a couple of holes so I may need a replacement boot lid. The roof may push out alright or I'll buy a new one. I few small patches need welding but generally not bad. Chassis rails are solid if a bit buckled from being used as jacking points. Front driver's door has a couple of holes in but I should be able to fix that.

Mart living up to his namesake again

Never seen a car restored from this standard before as I'm still a newbie compared to the hardcore.

Now this I have to see...

Good luck and much respect

It's going to take a bit longer than SFB as I have to strip everything off first.

But I won't be starting 'til after SFB has been sold & that won't be before TDCIR, so could be October.

Colin, I don't think I have as much to do as you've done on yours. Alun's project was/is ? far, far worse than this one, I'd say this was a medium resto job.

First thing to do when we get it home is, as Kev suggested, to give it a damned good going over with a hose/jet washer.

Interesting that it is a post VA15000, but wears signs of the earlier style...

Yes, rear bumper & pull-down grab handles are early, plastic rubbing strips & instrument layout are late.

I'm not sure what colour to have it sprayed! Keep it Honeysuckle (what colour is that?) or do it Mimosa.
