Interesting Steering Column

I don't know if this belongs to someone here

If so I would be interested to know the history of the steering column. Possibly from an LHD car?

It's a LHD body also. Probably converted using a RHD dash and some pedals.

Maybe they have a modern car as well and got fed up with accidentally putting the wipers on instead of indicators now that every modern manufacturer only fits LHD steering columns?!
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)

Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

from a human factors point of view, I have always thought it odd that the ignition key and choke where on the same side.

should be left hand for choke and right hand for ignition key. looks like a good mod to me.

No he hasn't,the switch labels are the correct way up and the steering lock is still in the lower part of the shroud. It is a LHD column transplanted to the RHS of the car. Apparently the car is a repatriated (possibly German) export model that has been converted to RHD. It's probably not a real 1980 car either as age related plates were not introduced until 1/8/83.
