think I might bite the bullet and get it replaced. Already have a new old stock MC correct for my Sprint.
the clevis pin looks a bu99er to get at and the whole thing looks odd to bleed (nipple at bottom?)
any tips welcome - even 'get a garage to do it'

That'll be the slave cylinder, not the master.
You can remove it from the gearbox and bleed it whilst it is up in the engine bay. The bleed nipple should be at the top. You need to keep the piston fully depressed in the cylinder whilst bleeding.
Some folk cut an access hole in the side of the transmission tunnel...

hi and thanks for the reply.
I need to replace the master as its leaking, the slave isn't leaking. The bleed on the slave is at the bottom, I guess I could turn it upside down.
the clevis pin on the master looks a bugger to get to under the dash parcel shelf.

Ah, understand now, I was reading your post as a single statement!
The clevis on the clutch pedal isn't so bad, the one on the slave is worse!
Rather than automatically using your NOS cylinder, they are quite rare now, examine the one on the car when you get it off and see if a seal kit will remedy matters for you...

the car history folder shows a seal kit fitted under 2 years ago. If the slave clevis is worse than the master clevis I'm not over keen on turning it upside down. Mind you I may be able to do that without taking the clevis off???

On the slave, are the threads for the feed and the nipple the same? If so you could "just" swap them over without going near the clevis.

All done. Slave not too bad to bleed. Worst bit was the split pin in the clevis as expected.
