Re: Fan belt
There aren't a lot of variables and the adjustment bracket should move over most of its range to take up the slack. It can get stuck against the
alternator body stopping it doing this.
Other than that the alternator pullys are all pretty standard so not a lot of variables.
Moss will do you the right belt.

Re: Fan belt
Yes, 6217MC looks like the correct one.
https://www.gatesautocat.com/article/6217MC
If you scroll about 2/3 of the way down it even lists the Sprint !
Clicking on the link then gives it as AVX10 x 925 La.
This is a standard form of marking I've seen on Bosch fan belts, but it should be 10mm wide by 925mm long. This marking is usually printed on the belt itself. Assuming its not be mis-packaged it would be worth checking the overall length.
There is a shorter belt for the Sprint + Kenlowe btw.
Tony.

Thanks i must be missing some thing, the belt measure's about 925mm but it to big, theres not enough adjustment to take up the slack,i can only see one hole in the timing case for the long bolt to go through

Re: Fan belt
Should work, is your adjustment bar fitted correctly? Is it possible you have it mounted to the wrong bolt on the engine?new to this wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 8:47 pmTonyMIG Wielder wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 12:14 pm Yes, 6217MC looks like the correct one.

Re: Fan belt
Just to check the alternator adjuster bracket is in the right hole in the timing chain case there is a good piccy on page 26-1 of the Sprint workshop manual. Under " Fan belt " this shows the adjuster bracket inner bolt fixed to the left-hand bolt on the LHS of the timing chain case and directly in line with the crankshaft pulley bolt centre-line.

Re: Fan belt
I've known the slotted bar to catch on the alternator case and restrict the amount of slide so to speak.
It should also be loose at the timing chain case end to allow it to rotate while adjusting, then tightened up after.
Not usually too bad a job although access is tight. Maybe have a look see from underneath?

Re: Fan belt
For those playing at home...and abroad
I had the same issue as Dave, the local version on Halfords here (Supercheapauto) sells 11A belts (11mm wide) and the 11A0925 is way too big.
For reference, the belt that fitted my Sprint is 11A0840 so try that if you find the 0925 is too big.
Cheers

Re: Fan belt
I believe the original belt was 848 mm in circumference.
