Never rains, but well dribbles. Another water leak

Got the Sprint running, idling at 900 odd and carbs in balance. Then water on the block, which I traced to the inlet manifold.

Anyone have a link to a supplier of oversized gaskets?

Inlet manifold to head gasket? I have some OE ones that are slightly thicker than the paper ones supplied these days.

I find the inlet manifold bolts are best tightened incrementally working from the centre outwards, similar to head technique that I also apply to the rocker cover; this pulls the components together evenly and tends to give a better seal, particularly above the waterpump where it might perhaps be argued another fixing would improve matters.

A common area for leaks here also is the by-pass tube...

I've used these guys for many years.

They will sell you individual gaskets at whatever thickness you require.

It is definitely comes from the inlet to head junction, I can see a little blue waterfall dribbling down.

I will confess to siliconing this, then finding the bypass tube was wrongly seated, removing it and trying to patch it with silicon, not having another gasket. I think this may have backfired on me.

Anyway I have another gasket on the way and if that doesn't work, another inlet manifold.

I use this guy too. Call him and ask for a thicker inlet gasket. Nice guy to deal with.
