Fitting fuel pump

Hi everyone i have to replace my fuel pump on my sprint engine it is a sort arm one has anyone got any tips how to line it up with the cam as i always here of people having problems refitting would be very much appreciated cheers Steve

I never understand how this can go wrong.
Just tilt the lever upwards as you enter it into the block so it goes on top of the cam and away you go.
Only awkward bit is holding the pump against the spring pressure until you can get a bolt done up to hold it in place.

I have seen people put the lever under the cam :shock: :shock:

I put in a longer bolt first to assist in pressing to the block, once the second was in finger tight removed the long for correct bolt, worked for me.

Sometimes the bolts are slotted so that you can hold them in with a screwdriver.

If not, put a magnet in the socket.

I was just going to add that bit of advice Mahesh but you beat me to it.

...or cut the heads off two scrap bolts (or use studding). Cut a slot in one end for a screw driver to fit. Insert the studs, install pump, use nuts to hold pump, replace studs one at a time with original, slotted bolts.
