Basically they are unavailable, nor are they likely to be.

Thought as much, mine are shot!
Not going to look good with nice paintwork, I'd pay someone to make them but who....
There must be a way around this...
I'll try around some rubber trim merchants, no deep breaths to be taken!!

Re: Quarter light rubber seals
Front, rear, or both? The front 1/4 lights can be removed from the doors without splitting the unit or removing the seal so no potential for extra destruction. The rears can be a complete b'stard to remove and often get damaged in the process. I MAY and I stress MAY have a couple of useable second hand rear ones in doors that are otherwise scrap and I have a BFMI method for getting them out of such doors intact, I just cut the window frame at the front of the door, bend the frame away and they FALL out!
Several folk have tried pricing up remanufacture of these, but so far the unit price and minimum order quantities have been an insurmountable stumbling block.

Hi mick,
That is the stuff above. I have used it repair a windsreen rubber that was tatty on one corner but didnt leak.... And it looked as good as new. Also used to repair bumper insert on my 2500S and also a split in a tank filler neck grommet on an old ford pop 103e. It is easy to use and worth a try for the price

Re: Quarter light rubber seals
As I understand things, it's not a question of finding somebody to do it, it's that to make it worth their while they want to do a LOT at a fairly high per-unit cost. Which makes it non-viable from a club/individual perspective.new to this wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 11:20 pm Hi Robsport had some 1/4 light seals made for the stag, they would know where to go,

Re: Quarter light rubber seals
Thanks all for your help
I will try Robsport in the morning and let you know what they say (Thanks Dave)
Just out of interest, how many dolly owners would like a set if there was a way of having many being made?
I understand that a manufacturer would need high interest to even get this ball rolling...

Re: Quarter light rubber seals
I'd be up for a set

Re: Quarter light rubber seals
I thought that it was the SOC tooling fund that got the quarerlights remade? Stag remade ones go for £50-£60 a pair, I'd expect to pay that much for a good quality small run bespoke rubber part for a classic car. Will be needing a pair in the not so distant future judging by how well mine are holding up.
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)
Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

Re: Quarter light rubber seals
I'm perfectly sure owners here would be over the moon with a unit price of £30ish for either front OR rear 1/4light rubber seals.
From what I recall, the last few NOS rear ones (which were in Oz) went for more like £50 each!
But the Stag O/C has a) many more members, b) more surviving cars ( Apart from Aston Martin there is a higher percentage of Stags surviving than just about anything else) and c) MUCH deeper pockets! So they can afford the tooling costs AND justify the large numbers needed to bring the unit price down.
Steve
As an aside, I believe Chris Witor has remade the T2000 front quarterlight rubbers, which LOOK much more like ours, though I think they are actually a bit larger in every direction. But might be worth a call!
