Electric Cooling fan thermostat

#1 Post by Sundowner »

Hi,
I've been away for a couple of months visiting London, Paris, WWI battlefields and taking a Baltic cruise.
The last time I drove my Sprint before I went, everything was working fine. Yesterday, first time out since my return, the cooling fan switched itself on around the 1/4 mark, instead of just after the 1/2 mark where it had been set and had been operating perfectly before I left.
I'll be looking at it more closely today, but I'm posting here now, just in case someone can offer a reason or advice.
Thanks & Cheers,
Rob

I just had a closer look at the problem and found that its not the thermostat setting, its the gauge. Its decided to stop working properly and the new "normal" is at the 1/4 mark. I guess (& hope) it could be a faulty sender unit.

How is the fuel gauge behaving? Check you have 10 volts to the temperature and fuel gauges.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes that side of things is all OK.
I'm pretty sure its the temp sender unit, now.
Thanks again,
Rob
