Hi
I have a few small oil weeps of oil on the gearbox of the sprint. I have seen that winns do a gearbox stop leak which swells the oil seal to stop small leaks. Has anyone used this in an overdrive gearbox and had any problems with the overdrive at all.
Thanks
Mike.

Those stop oil leak additives all work as promised. Your gearbox will leak less oil but will start leaking a bit stop leak additive now.

So your oil leaking will be reduced but the overall leakage in cc's/mile or cc's/week will not reduce by the usage of these additives.

It depends why it is leaking. There are different sorts of stop leak. For example the sort you throw in a cooling system generally contains particles that clogged up the leak. The sort you are referring to work by swelling tried seals. I have used that sort in a power steering system and it worked well

The problems I can see, is it depends where the leak is coming from. That kind of stop leak will be no good for a paper gasket.

Does the OP know the source of the leak?

Hi thanks for the replys.
Was wondering if any of the stop leaks and gearbox treatments would effect the operation of the overdrive.
Has anyone used them in a overdrive.
Thanks
Mike.
