Dolomite Tool Kit

Hi, Can anyone enlighten me as to what tool kit the cars were equipped with when sold.
Mine had none when I bought it and now I`ve finished my refurb and am using it it mght prove handy!

Out of shear curiosity I'd love to know the answer, it'd be nice to know if any of the assortment of tools and utensils I have under the boot board are original.

I don't know the answer to your question but I wouldn't be at all surprised if all you got was a wheel spanner and a jack. That seems to be usual in cars of that age.

Folding wheel chock (discontinued after a while)

All usually found in a black polythene bag, except for the plug spanner which is usually in a previous owner's tool box.

Dolomite (ie 1850, pre HL) and all post 76 non Sprint models, the wheel covers, hubcaps, whatever, are secured to the wheel by the wheel nuts, no crowbar is required. AFAIK only Toledos, 1500FWD, some later 1300 Dolomites and maybe the 1500TC had hubcaps in the proper sense of the word. My Toledo toolkit (which I've since sold, no spare wheel and different size nuts) contained a jack and handle, a tube spanner with wheel nut size on one end and plug size on the other, plus a short bar to turn it with. One end of this bar had a slightly flattened spatulate shape that I assumed was to remove hubcaps with.

This jells with my Toledo parts list, though the parts list also lists, with an asterisk, an open ended spanner of 1/2" and 7/16" sizes.

Does that mean that Binny (L reg Dolomite) has the wrong wheels/trims? The ones fitted are a pressed tin affair that snaps onto the "lugs" on the face of the wheel - totaly independent of the wheel nuts?

I can't recall ever having an actual early car like Binny, but I had a set of those caps last year, fitted to a 1500HL which I broke up (terminally rotten shell) The 1500 wheels didn't have lugs and the caps were secured in the usual way, by plastic washers on the nuts. I had thought this was a constant. Obviously not! Every day a school day!
