Aerial fix

Newish member just got Sprint back from restorers. Can't see access to fit new period aerial to hole on front o/s wing. Is there a 'topic' on this I can follow to solve problem ? Thanks

There is a shield plate in the back of the wheel arch (metal on earlier cars, plastic from around 75>) that has to be removed to access the ariel and also the hole in the kick panel the cable passes into the car through. It's secured by 3 x 1/4" unf bolts, easiest to take the wheel off first.

John.

Just fitted one.

I was lucky as Will had the teardrop for the front wing. Firstly the hole in the front wing is a bigger diameter that most standard ariels will fit.

However I took a chance and got a £15 one off eBay. After some cutting and trimming of the plastic on the ariel itself, a couple of trial fits, it came out ok.

However without the tear drop I would of been stuffed.
