Bonnet strut

Has any one fitted a bonnet strut to a Dolomite ? I fitted one to mine today i used 300cm long 800N its works, but i think its to strong im going to look for another strut maybe around 500N

Never fitted one Dave, but theses guys have loads in stock of various sizes etc.

The quicksprint has four very short ones fitted, a pair each side...they worked well, but they're a bloody nuisance when they wear out.

Yep, had that issue with my Rover 75, first breath of wind and the bonnet headed slowly for your head.

To be honest I don't see what is wrong with the stock setup? Little that can go wrong with a solid bonnet stay.

Oh I dunno, you can accidently gouge your new paintwork when re-fitting your bonnet, or was that just me :lol:

The penalty for laziness i'm afraid! Just because you CAN remove the stay with the bonnet, doesn't mean you SHOULD! I remove the split pin and clevis and leave the stay in the track, only takes a second to refit it and it's not dangling in your way then!

Yea I did figure that out in hindsight!
