Trim board - 912871 (Rimmers)

#1 Post by yorkshire_spam »

Does anyone have any experience of the rear boot trim board supplied by Rimmers P/N 912871 quality wise?
I can't find anyone else that has that part, so I'm debating buying some millboard and making my own VS buying theirs (having previous experience of their "quality" products) so I'd value the opinion of anyone who has actually bought that part from them? (Or an alternative source?)

Cheers, Sam

I don't have experience of the Rimmer's product, but I do have a NOS item still in its BL bag.

Have you asked? It may also be NOS that they carry...

Problem is that based on previous experience of springs that don't fit, are the wrong length/rate etc etc etc tools that were supplied in place of "special tools" without consultation and the amount of BS they tried to feed me I wouldn't trust them to tell me the truth about the provenance of the stock.

My experience mirrors yours, ordered some secondhand items off them that turned out to be so rusty they were basically scrap. Nothing like the photo and nothing in the description to indicate the poor condition.

Some people are like Slinky's, they serve no real purpose in life but bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

It was the rear trim board that runs across the back covering where the lights are - but I've managed to source a NOS one from elsewhere thanks!
