Has any one else tried shortening the gear stick ? im tring to lose about an 1 inch

Yes, I recall a ‘how to’ guide in one of the old DSR News magazines years ago. A couple of folk on here have a full library of the old magazines, so if you’re lucky someone might scan and post for you…

However, have you compared length/angles of stag, saloon and TR gearsticks? one may be a good swap?

Today had a go at shortening the gear stick,i choose to recut the thread down a bit, your need a split dye,as the gear stick is tapered, one thing i didnt realise doing the shortening this way is i now have to machine the grooves both sides of the gear stick as the gear knob now doesnt go to the bottom
If i was to do it again, id probably cut and reweld the gear stick,at the time didnt think it was a good idea
