sprint head re torqueing

#1 Post by series111 »

When tighting the head down on a sprint engine after a few 1000 miles, do you slacken the bolt off and then retighten one at a time or just retorque them, also what torque should they be tigthen to and in what order.

Thanks

Do them one at a time. Slacken them about an eighth of a turn and then torque them to 60 lb ft. Start from the centre stud and work outwards then start again with the centre bolt & work outwards.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.
