#1 Post by Yellow Banana »

Busy boy today. Two posts in 5 mins!!

Looking to replace the steering rack on my Sprint. Think it'll have to be a reconditioned one but best place to get one please - and any idea of cost?? Cheers.

Get them from the Club. I'm not sure if Alun has any in stock atm, I'm sure he will be along soon.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

I only have a quickrack in stock at the moment and I'm told the only viable one in the last batch I took in currently at the reconditioners is also a hi-ratio. I do now have 9 further core units to take in, which hopefully I'll be able to do next week sometime, but we're then looking at about another fortnight turn around if any of the ones I take in are found to be viable...

For a short term solution, you could try one of the south American made items that some suppliers stock, but please don't send it to me as core exchange when it wears out

The competently reconditioned items we have done worked out at £155 last time inc UK carriage. I think some places will supply 'reconditioned' items at about £70, but when you consider the retail profit and reconditioner's profit along with distribution costs, you quickly work out there's not a lot left to cover the parts and labour applied to them!

Thanks Alun. Had a read through the posts on this topic earlier and did see the percentage of those you had received previously weren't up to scratch. Price for the quick rack out of interest?

Also read Richard Old's good post on self refurbishing the rack but not sure if I could successfully do that! :?
