The servo on my 1850 appears to be non-working. The car has not been driven for 4 or 5 years, and only shunted about recently.
The vacuum hose seems all OK, so before I start spending mony, anything I should check? My first port of call was going to be a reseal kit, is that a likely cause?
Pointers very welcome, I have never played with servo's

Re: Servo not working
suggest you try "search" for servo faults or whatever. I have posted about my troubles. alot of help from experts. Note my comment if you should purchase from Lincoln! advised to press pedal BEFORE starting engine. if the pedal drops the servo is working. Maybe a leaking diaphragm. there might be an audible hiss when pedal depressed sat in the cab, engine off.

Re: Servo not working
The sevo on my 1500 FWD appeared not to be working, rock hard pedal, right at the top, but no stopping power to speak of.
Like you, my hose looked OK, but when I took it off, it was like flap valve inside, you could suck from one side, but not the other!
It's still only only one of the smaller servos, so the load required is still fairly high, but it is noticeably working now with a new hose fitted. I no longer have to wind the window down and throw an anchor out! Fortunately I keep some in stock!
Also check the one way valve is working correctly.
Personally, i've never had much luck rebuilding servos, this sort or the remote variety, so I tend to leave it to the specialists.

Re: Servo not working
Hi
I recently replaced my servo with one from Rimmers, i was expecting issues but luckily it seems they have changed the connection point where it fastens to the pedal after feedback from people on here (cheers Bob).
I waited for a 10% off as they are expensive

The only issue i had (apart from the different threads, as advised by Carledo) is that the servo is wider than the original 1850 one and i cant get the clutch master cylinder lid off now. It unscrews and lifts enough at an angle to top up so not an issue really.

Re: Servo not working
You can do the servo test, as others have suggested. Just pump the pedal with the engine off and then leave your foot on it and start the engine. It should sink.
My understanding is there is some kind of internal plastic/bakerlite part in triumph servos that can shatter, which renders them scrap. Don't know if there is anyway of repairing them if that happens.

Re: Servo not working
Pedal stays rock hard. And the brakes are a bit hopeless, even trundling up and down the driveway.cleverusername wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 11:13 am You can do the servo test, as others have suggested. Tomorrow I will have another look, I can rob hose etc off the toledo which has a remote servo.

Re: Servo not working
After a bit of faffing, it appears the vacuum hose was at fault, it has collapsed/blocked. I pilfered the vac hose off the toledo, a bit tight on length but proved that the servo itself is OK. A bit of a relief, as the hose looked OK.
Thanks to all for their assistance.
