Will 8 AA batteries power the clock ?

Any ideas how long the batteries would last ?

Hi

I tested a clock over a weekend I got with a 9V battery and it kept time well.

Not sure if that helps!

The first thing to do would be to measure how much current the clock uses, with a multimeter (in the normal situation run off the car battery). Then you can work out how many amp hours the clock consumes. This will give you an indication of how long the batteries will last. It also depends which type of clock you have. One is fully electric whilst the other is mechanical/electric so it only uses power every 2-3 minutes.
