MG Triumph 100

#1 Post by PaulB »

There will be a large gathering this year at Silverstone on June 10th and 11th to celebrate 100 years of MG & Triumph.

https://www.mgtriumph100.co.uk/

Wouldn't this be a great opportunity for the Triumph Dolomite Club to participate in a prestigious national event and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sprint. Perhaps the TDC national day could also be held at this event?

We have contacted the club regarding any plans to attend and had a rather non committal reply.

Tickets are already on sale and a 20% is available before end of Feb.

Hi

Would love to but as 8 hour drive from Aberdeen I think I will have to give it a miss

Sure it will be a great day!

It was discussed here:

https://forum.triumphdolomite.co.uk/vi ... 16&t=37507

but traffic through the forum seems to have been lost to facebook, a platform I personally now choose not to use.

It all comes down to the perennial question of who is going to organise it; if someone ‘picks up the baton and runs’ to sort out the necessary and promote it, I’m sure it would be a success. In answer to the obvious question of “Why doesn’t the Club…” I’ll ask rhetorically ‘who is the Club?’

I have noticed this too, not much activity on the Forum, whereas on Facebook if you post something there is plenty of activity & responses.

I'm not that keen on it either & I will keep updating my resto thread on here as it provides a much better record.

There is an additional £10 per ticket (plus £10 of a camping pitch) using the Standard Triumph Forum discount code. I just booked for 2 weekend entry tickets plus a camping pitch, all in just under £90. Very reasonable for such an event.
