Late Model Dolomite chrome boot trim end caps

#1 Post by ClassicFan »

I was looking for 2 missing end caps for the chrome trim that runs around the rear of my Dolomite SE and across the rear boot lid. Fitchetts were very helpful, though they had no stock they did give me the part number and said Rimmers had stock so if anyone is looking for any the part number is ZKZ 3735 https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-ZKC3735

Not cheap for what they are but needs must and if anyone has a 3D printer, well.....

I have a 3d printer, if you send me a file I could print a couple out for you. Only issue is they would come out green and need painting, I only have green filament.

Not wishing to tread on cleverusername's toes (as he offered first), I also have a 3D printer (black already loaded) If someone can send me a file or an actual cap to reverse engineer.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

Lets see how they actually fit first and we may take you up on it.

If someone is willing to draw one up and produce the *.STL file they will have done the bulk of the work. After that they should be printed in a few minutes so just having a 3D printer does not mean that they can be made quickly. A common misconception in the non-3D community. I often get the 'you've got a 3D printer haven't you? Can you just make a .......(undefined thingy) for me? Sad but true.
Do not be surprised when the 3D printer owner says 'have you got a file?'. Don't be surprised when the outcome is more expensive than the cost of the filament.
I have a slightly creaky version of ProDesktop to use but I'll have a go. If I manage it I will add the file to this thread.
No timescale though, busy writing an Engineering Book. :D
It isn't Orange!!!!!!
The other one wasn't Purple either!!!
One of the new ones will probably be green, very green.
Another new one is green too but not as green as the previous one. Still pretty green. No, now it's Blue.
The other new one will be white with stripes. Actually it might not. No, it will be.
BUT, that one is definitely Yellow :=}
