Any recommended garages or classic bodyshops in the Greater Bristol area?

#1 Post by Oli.Pearce »

Hello everyone.

Random shot in the dark but has anyone had any work done either mechanically or body & paint on their Dolomite in the Bristol area. Would appreciate any recommendations.

I get by on the oily stuff but it would be nice to have a trusted garage up my sleeve just in case. I'm also looking to get my Sprint spruced up over the winter with some paint so any recommendations for body shops would be greatly appreciated.

I've not been overly impressed by my local (Clifton) garages, who are hesitant to touch old stuff

Hoping there's some Bristolians in the forum!

Thanks all.

Ps.
Here's a photo of my Sprint

Hi Oli.

I am sure my father in law (Richard the Old one) will pick up on this thread, but I know he has had good service from this garage for many years with his fleet of Dolomites: https://www.allsportscars.co.uk/

This has been mainly for MOT's, and the odd job as Richard is excellent with all aspects of maintenance etc.

May be worth bearing in mind however. They are certainly 'classic friendly' which is a help.

Kind Regards

Matt

Hi Oli.

On the First Thursday of the month a number of Triumph car owners meet up at the Civil Service sport Club in Filton Avenue, Bristol and I suggest you should come and join us between 20:30 and 22:00. You do not have to be a member of the CSSC join us there.

I have used Cleeve hill garage for over 20 years for my MoTs and some welding and am very happy with their standard of work.

When one of my cars was damaged my insurance company suggested Tomorrows Classics which is based out near Berkeley and they undertook the work to my satisfaction.

Regards

Richard the old one.

Thank you Matt & Richard for the suggestions.

Good to hear there are some classic friendly garages round this way and knowing they've worked on Dolomites is a plus!

(Richard I'll drop you a message privately)

Cheers
