Diff Head

Trying to get the diff head out of a sprint axle, the manual says you need a spreader tool to do this, I haven't got one, is there a trick to do this without the tool, Thanks

I can't help answer directly, but I have found this Webpage where making your own spreader tool is described (though for a TR4 diff, which I believe is similar to the Sprint's?)
