Where can i get oversize shims. Between .173 - to .196"
Quoted £8 a shim so far. Anyone know of cheaper. I know the Rovers go to around .175 but are there any other cars you know of that go higher?
Thanks
Mike

A few years ago I bought a rebuilt engine which had a Triumphtune "fast road" cam fitted. After a couple of the shims popped out and one of the buckets broke, it dawned on me that I needed thicker shims fitting. After measuring the clearances on the other valves, then working out the thickness of the shims needed, I realised that you just couldn't get shims of that size. I then realised that Triumphtune produced valves with longer stems, specially for use with their uprated cams.

Petrol prices go up and down like a yo-yo. It depends on what day of the week you buy, Tuesday night usually is the cheapest, and this week in Sydney you could buy ULP for $1.07/Litre = 43p/litre. Premium at 10c/ litre.
