Hans - a question

#1 Post by Paul Roberts »

Hans (and anyone else who may have some knowledge of availability...)

At some stage in the future I would like to get hold of a fast road camshaft (STR 0091 or similar) for my Sprint. Thought I had a Triumphtune cam, but turns it is standard cam slightly reprofiled. Could you supply? Would still like to run with the SUs rather than Webers. Car is used primarily for club competition, trackdays, etc but it is also second road car.

Cheers

Yes I have brand new cams STR 91, STR 127 (sorry don't now exact out of my head this number could be 123 but cant check it out here at home, the parts are in the warehouse in my company) and even a few F3 cams. (double lobe). next to that several special cams, and many standard cams.

But to be honest with this forum, I tend to be a bit reluctant right now about offering serious parts.

The inquiries about the Mahle pistons did make me realise again that the part "cheap" is the most looked after.
Don't forget I collected and looked for special stuff for over 30 years already, for my own use, so selling parts will only be to serious people who in the end build an serious engine.

My enquiry was serious, but with no answer I have gone elsewhere for my solution.

Hi Hans

Definitely serious!! My car is good at the moment but (like everyone) would like to produce a bit more power. I wouldn't contemplate a rebuild until something goes wrong, but would be looking at building a more "serious" engine when the time comes. I have had a Sprint for the last 22 years, raced one for a little while in the 1990s and now compete regularly in Triumph Club events (hillclimbs, track days, etc).

Thanks
