gets warm then runs rough as old boots???????
when i first start up the old beauty she runs lovely fires up straight away and revs nicely drives good too but if ive been drivng for more than about say half an hour and its got nice and warm it starts running a bit...........dunno how to describe it just runs rough would it be the timing ive timed it up and it seems to run ok as i said to begin with but i dont know what this one is.................also when i put my foot on the clutch i lose about 500 rpm any idea what that is................oh the joys of owning a dolly!!!!!!!!!!!!
happens all the time dunno why. at the moment its revs a bit high as i havent had time to set it so at the mo it sits at about 12/1300 rpm i know its way too high but i finish work late and cant be arsed when i get home so when i put my foot on the clutch i goes down to about 800 rpm and i really dont know why

I concurrrrr,,,
Rough running when hot ubnder bonnet us waxstats leaning mxture too much.
Check for good heat shield...essential on ohv cars, which also do need the cold air inlet too. Also breather pipes...
500 rpm drop on clutch eh? Sounds dire...
knackered release bearing is your best case....worn thrust washers and damaged crank your worst...

dolly rough as old boots
been a long time since i replied sorry well the engine is a 1500 tc when it does get warm yes it gets better when you pull the choke out i have also noticed that once it is warm you can hear the release bearing whiring so i think it is that but this is all academic at the moment as i blew the gasket to bits on christmas eve going to get a new xmas tree and the car is in my garage with no head as it was warped and is in a garage already skimme dbut i cant get to it as there shut till after the new year. oh well.
What you'll be needing is a Jod Clark short engine to go under your shiny new head. you know it makes sense, and if you've already stripped the head off you won't need a crane to change the lump over.
