I know its not a British marque but for coventry, once the major motor industy in the country i personly feel its a big loss!!
Iv known people that have worked or are still working a peugeot, my dad worked at the humber road plant for many years back in the late 70s early 80s and they all say its a great job, great guys and a great atmosphere......at 3.30pm today that will be all gone!! The other day i drove past the Humber road plant and the big Factory doors were open.....i stopped and had a look, i was horrible, once where cars were produced, all there is now is an empty shell!
I was only a little lad when the Triumph factory was closed and demolished all for a supermarket and a load of other rubbish!!
In 23years from now it most probably be telling my kids bout the Triumph, Alvis, Humber, Talbotpeugeot etc that coventry once all produced!!
In the past years we've lost Jaguar browns lane, massy ferguson banner lane, Longbridge Birminham and now peugeot Ryton! not no name all the local factorys that produced parts for the factorys!!
Like i said i know its not a British marque but at 3.30 today coventry has finally lost what its known for.....car production!!
