Upper wishbone bush

#1 Post by dath »

Does anyboidy know the difference between the early and late bushes?

I have a 1972 1850 that I want to rebush and it looks like poly bushes are only available for later wisbones.
Rimmers cat says the later one started WF48705 1976.
I also have a 1976 1850 WF60950 that I can swop arms with.
It is outside under a tarp and was about to take one off and its decided to rain.
Anway from what I can see externally both arms are the same.
Is the Rimmers change over date wrong or is the difference some sort of internal diameter change?

Should add the 1972 car has basically had one owner with very complete garage maintained history with no record off arms being changed to later type.
The 1976 unfortunately is very rusty with no history so may have had earlier arms fitted at some piont.

I fiited polly bushes to late and early upper wishbones and they fitted fine, much easier than rubber ones to fit, washing up liquid and a vice usually surfice. I cannot remember there being a difference between the arms at all
