OUCH
poor thing
I don't know it but what a clean car! When this sort of thing happens, it opens up all the seams and you see the underlying corrosion, but there doesn't seem to be any. The worst thing is its worth more in bits! Alot of the panelwork would be available and with a good tug the n/s 1/4 would repair as would the boot floor I would think. Probally get away with the 1/4 inner frame as well, but I'm afraid thats it for this one! Surprised it wasn't cat B'd

The boot looks to be wrecked - definitely kinked and curved...Damn, what a slam that recieved!
From the right side it's not so obvious but on the left...

Whatever it hit seems to have been lower than the lock on the boot when it hit, popping it open in the impact.
Maybe you're right, maybe they let it roll or reversed into a wall at 30 mph
Seen odder!

If it didnt roll backwards in to a lamp post and was hit by another car what an absolute shame........
........Just shows how our pride and joy can be took away from us by some idiot that dont know where the brake pedal is!!!!!
The car looks to be repairable for someone whos got the time, money and knowledge, iv seen cars like that if not worse put back on the road!!
If i had the equipment and space i wouldnt mind having ago!!

It will be a very difficult repair, not to mention expensive.
Steve Wilkes old Sprint ended up looking the same after a fairly low speed impact from behind a matter of months after he had comprehensively rebuilt it (so there was no rot in the boot on his!). The rear corners of the car aren't actually that strong (except for the rear lights which rarely break!) as there is very little triangulation or boxing formed by the inner panels; infact there are very few inner panels at all in this area - so called stiffeners merely follow the corners.
Brian Kitley claims to have the only offside rear wing this side of Australia...I have the other two in my cellar
Even so, having looked at Wilksey's car when that was bashed the D posts will likely have distorted and pushed into the rear door shuts. You could probably effect a repair, but without a jig and dozer it would most likely show.
Shame.
Lesson learned by Wilksey was make sure the agreed value is up to date, his was still at £1k for a £3k car; the first offer from Insurers was a couple of hundred with 150 charge to deliver the car back to him from Rotherham (even though the accident happened two miles from home in Dudley!)
Good job he has a mate who can write a robust letter or two, we eventually achieved the grand and the salvage delivered back for free, but it was a struggle!

Back on topic, it could have been a 2 wheeled thingy that went into the back.
