There is various reasons possible for this ,check for wear on the pivit pins at the clutch pedal and on the slave operating arm, one of my sprints now sports an early tr6 master cylinder solved my problems and was only £50 quid.
battery location
having the battery in the boot also makes room for the oil cooler to go beside the rad so no drastic new holes needed.

recoring
not normally they just replace the core, but you don't get the fame if you exchange one at triumph suppliers. if it's only the bottom steel plate any metal frabricator can easily knock you up a replacement.
i've had this done on two of my sprints and the cost was around £85 each time so £72 is good.

Re: tr7
The hose does indeed go from the cylinder head to the heater matrix the other heater outlet then goes to a t piece that connects to the inlet manifold and the water pump cover. It certainly makes my heater very hot but turning on the interior heater in severe traffic does help cool things down well ...

Re: tr7
Take a look on rimmers web site it's shown on the TR7 cooling system. I followed it when doing mine it's quite simple.

i've had the same trouble recently, i even contacted the makers direct but other that an acknowledgment i heard no more.
i did manage to get some AE bearings from moss as opposed to the cheap imitations others sell.

ceramic coating
the ceramic coating provides heat insulation as its a very poor conductor of heat, the race coating i had done coats both the inside and the outside to double the effect but don't think that the manifold will be cold to touch it still gets very hot but remains a lot cooler than without it.
Re: Manifold Wrap
Further to my nate night reply the ceramic coating was applied to the manifold as on a sprint i think you'd find it rather difficult to use exhaust wrap tape due to the advanced design of the manifold (all they could fit) but the temperature difference is quite amazing but for maximum performance ...

Have never used the stuff but i have a sprint manifold race coated inside and out with a ceramic coating it makes a huge difference to the under bonnet temperature and to the temperature of the rocker cover.
Re: Thanks
I,ve had koni's on the front of a sprint for many years now and they still perform well, problem is availability now is very difficult. both my other sprints are running spax although they must be quite old as they are blue in colour and the new ones seem to be yellow.
