1500 clutch
I got stung badly with this with my car. I needed the clutch replacing and didn't feel confident enough to do the job myself so got someone else to have a go.......and then someone else after they'd botched it........loads of money later (and after being recovered by the RAC after one attempt) they ...

bearings
My Dolomite catalogue ('76 on) gives mains as rtc1753 and bigends as rtc1754. When I replaced the bigend bearings on my 1500 Dolly I went to Cardinal Triumph (sadly no more) and they didn't have any for a 4 cylinder engine so they raided a box for a 6 cylinder engine so the cross referencing works ...

1500 thrust washers

Also can you uprate the thrust washers when rebuilding a 1500 engine to make allowances for the greater load? And does the ...

1500 head gasket
I know how you feel! Doing the head gasket on mine in driving sleet made me buy a car I could just feed petrol too, ending 6 years of daily Dolomite driving. The headgasket was number 3. Number 1 was the clutch and number 2 was the overdrive/gearbox - all in 3 months<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START ...

oil pressure 1500
Mine does too. I always spin the engine without any choke to build up the pressure before firing. This is normal even with the proper filter. If you look at the position of one in situ it is cunningly designed to drain its entire contents 30 minutes after swiching off! My 1850 built up pressure much ...
