The problem that you are suffering is easy to sort out.
The hazard switch disconnects the normal indicators, otherwise you can get a back feed through the indicators to the ignition circuit. Worst case is dirty contacts on the back of the switch. Get some contact cleaner, or WD40, give the ...

Wiring
If it's got 2 white wires on the back, then it needs wiring in series between the coil and the distributor.
It's a different wiring circuit on the very early tachos
You wil then from memory, also need an ignition supply and earth to the tacho
You've mounted it where?
Having read the previous link, I'm a tad concerned as to how long your cooler will survive, especially if the pipe mountings are rubbing on something.
Mounting to the ARB is a no no. That bar moves under braking, and accelerating. The cooler will move with it, and that movement will be amplified ...

To fit the dash as one lump won't work, as the wiring harness is different.
To fit the upside down clocks into your dash will work, as you will transfer the wires on a 1 by one basis.
It shouldn't take too long, but you will retain the later warning light cluster, later hazard switch ...

I'll have to hook a trailer on the back of KAC for 3, plus I'm struggling for space at the moment.
I might, stress might, be able to get down next Wednesday evening, especially as I'll have a vehicle on loan that I'll be able to carry things without a trailer.
HHmmmm
The early 1850 dolomite came straight out of the back on the LH side, the only issue being that the silencer was all behind the mounting. I added a mounting from the bumper iron on mine to stop it breaking.
That could be an option, alternatively, how about a universal Peco type silencer, mounted ...

Re: 1500HL exhaust upgrade
On KAC, I run a 4:1 branch manifold, into an 1/8" bigger than standard pipe, with 2 cherry bomb type silencers in the system. It sounds very nice!
I had the system built in Coventry on the car, which was handy, as the fit is perfect, and it allowed us to move silencers to the best place for ...

1300 or 1500?
If they are 1300 FWD boxes, I'll take one off you, to allow me to build a spare for when I inevitably blow KAC's box to pieces!
old cure for the problem
Sugar dissolves in water
Water, especially with sugar in is denser than petrol.
Remove fuel tank,
Plug outlet
Add1/2 gallon water, 1/2 gallon petrol, shake violently.
Allow to stand for 1/2 and hour.
Remove outlet bung, drain off 3/4 gallon of fluid
Result, clean fuel ...
